So until recently (and by recent I mean the last 5 years) I had nil to no interest in make up.
I participated in a basic beauty routine and tried to get away with as minimal make up as possible.
It wasn’t until I really started working and spent some more time with my sister-in-law that I started to become more interested in it.
For the last couple of years I have been mucking around with make up and beauty routines and I feel like I am finally starting to work out what I like and what I don’t.
My Mother is huge into her French skincare (Lancome primarily) and to be honest, she looks 10 – 20 years younger than her actual age, so in all honestly I take quite a lot of her recommendations seriously (I am also really hoping those genes got handed down).
Next up is my sister-in-law who has shown me how to do amazing make up on a budget, and that sometimes the classics really are the best. I only wish that one day my skin is a smooth as hers!
Lastly, my best friend, who as all good best friends do: encourages me to have a play. Even if its only for me in my bathroom mirror. Spending a few dollars on something new, just to experiment has allowed me to express myself in a whole new way, and I have loved that we have gotten to experiment with it all together.
So today was really an appreciation of the women who have inspired me on my beauty journey, and although I am starting to work out what I like, I cannot wait to see how they influence me in the future.
